Pilot training
FORTRESS GLOBAL offers civil helicopter pilot training programs. The course studies and practical training take place at the company’s partners’ base using modern equipment under experienced pilots, which ensures a high teaching level, increases training efficiency, and guarantees acquisition of a flight license.
Training program
Helicopter pilot training includes advanced training methods that make it possible to independently operate an air vehicle and become competent in performing duties assigned to a civil helicopter pilot.
After completing the theoretical course, the trainee will be able to:
- perform flight preparation;
- make up a preliminary flight route, considering the current meteorological and ornithological conditions;
- complete pre-flight preparation;
- control the passenger placement and load security according to the characteristics of a particular helicopter model;
- perform flights according to the task;
- adhere to the rules of radio communication;
- obey orders of a ground control station;
- keep flight documents;
During the practical training, the pilot will gain the following experience:
- equipment preparation and take-off;
- circuit flights;
- landing in standard and severe environment;
- flight along the route;
- long-distance flights to the destinations beyond the training heliport;
- performing search and rescue operations.
After completing the training course, the helicopter pilot will know:
- the air law rules;
- civil aviation system and operational procedures;
- aircraft design and special aspects of its operation;
- helicopter piloting and aviation safety basics.
Before starting the course, one is to receive a clean bill of health confirming that there are no health restrictions on piloting a civil helicopter.
License acquisition
After mastering the program, students take a qualification exam consisting of two parts. During the theoretical part, helicopter pilots confirm their knowledge of the materials. During the practical part, a future pilot demonstrates his or her flying skills: taking off, landing a helicopter, overcoming obstacles, and ability to act in emergency situations.
After passing the qualifying examination, the trainee obtains a pilot certificate.
